Analytic Standards are very important but need review based on the incorporation (or re-incorporation) of Information Operations, Cyber, Electronic Warfare, HUMINT and OSINT...especially in today's 24/7 News Cycle and viral internet postings. This tradecraft was developed during a bi-polar timeframe mainly focused. The scenarios are very important and should be utilized during analytical presentation/briefs. One of the key items (to borrow from Sun Tzu) is to know your enemy. This starts with learning (and continue learning) about not only your potential enemy but your subject matter (IO, Cyber, etc). Additionally, blue space, red space and gray space are all very important. The end goal is not to present every scenario or regurgitate simple facts, but to present a logical analytical assessment based on facts and to include intel gaps. The methods should be utilized across the DoD (to include training) for military, civilians and contractors
